Five Ways To Improve Your Blog's Readability

1. Fonts: there are some really cute fonts at our disposal on Blogger. But take heed, the ones that are all girly or curly or curvy, refrain. Don't use those on your blog. It hampers the ability to read your words, and you sure don't want that. Plus, it doesn't look as professional as I'm sure you want your blog to look.

2. Just mix a few fonts on your blog. (Content, Pages, Blog Post Title, Widgets, Sidebar). I'd say no more than three different fonts. Otherwise it looks too busy.

3. I know some of you just love to use the grays in your fonts. In fact some of you like to use the really LIGHT grays. Black is really best. You don't want people straining their eyes to read your blog. Because they probably won't come back for a second run.

4. Bigger is sometimes better. As in your fonts, once again. Don't have teeny tiny wording. We older folks can't read it. And it makes us cranky. And there's a lot of baby boomers out there!

5. Clean up your sidebar. If you have things running off your margins, clean it up. In other words, if you can't get whatever is running outside your margin fixed by going into the Template Designer under Customize and Adjust Width, then take it off.

So, in conclusion, pick nice straight easy to read fonts. Don't use more than three in your blog. Black is the easiest font color to read. In my opinion, depending on the font you're using, you should pick size 12 or 14. Sometimes I use 16. If you have widgets or whatever crossing the margin, fix it or take it off.

That's it!
