Scrolling Labels & Archives

I found a scrolling box list for labels and archives over at Spice Up Your Blog. I get their newsletter and they have some great ideas that I bring to you.

Go over to my sidebar on this blog and take a look at my labels and archives. If you like what you see and want to try it, it is once again an easy CSS addition.

As usual, go to Design>Customize>Advanced>Add CSS.

In the box, for labels, paste the code below into the CSS box:

#Label1 .widget-content{height:200px; width:auto;overflow:auto;}

If you want the same for your archives, just add what is below while you're at it in the CSS box. But put it on a separate line.

#BlogArchive1 .widget-content{height:200px; width:auto;overflow:auto;}

If you don't immediately see the change, hit the space bar. If it looks as you want it, Save.

That's it!

  1. Looks good, Brenda! I just hate it when I find a blog I like and they don't have an archives place! Ugh! Hope you're doing well.

  2. Oh that's such a great idea. Now I am wondering if I can do that with my blog roll, wouldn't that be fun. The more blogs we read, the longer the list gets.

    2. You can Jen! I did my Blog Roll....put the following in your CSS and click the space bar if you don't see it right away. You can adjust to whatever px length you want, I just chose 1500.

      #BlogList1 .widget-content{height:1500px; width:auto;overflow:auto;}

  4. Oh Brenda...I am going to be busy reading! I am having the hardest time understanding how to make my new .com address work on my blogger/blogpost.com. Given time maybe I will get it done! Thanks for so much info. I just hope I am smart enough to use it. :-)
